Sunset Living

Sunset Living is an exercise in panoramic luxury. Perched above the Pacific Coast Highway, the brief was simple: disappear the walls and let the view do everything.

The open-plan great room spans the full width of the structure, its floor-to-ceiling glazing folding back entirely in summer to create a seamless indoor-outdoor living environment. Materials were selected to recede — bleached white oak floors, linen upholstery, matte plaster walls — so that the shifting colors of the Malibu sky become the palette of every room.

The kitchen anchors the north end of the plan, a sculptural island in Calacatta marble providing a counterpoint to the softness of the landscape beyond.
